Book Study Mastermind
The Book We Are Studying This Session:
Developing the Leader Within You 2.0
by John C. Maxwell
What is a Book Study Mastermind?
Have you ever picked up a book with good intentions to read it through its entirety but then something comes up and it never gets read? Have you ever finished a book and asked yourself at the end, what did I really learn?
If you answered yes to either of these questions, then being a participant in our book study Mastermind may be the perfect place for you!
We choose from a list of timeless books that have created massive change in people’s lives. As a group, we draw out the most important principles from these writings and then work to implement them into our own lives.
Our Book Study Masterminds holds you accountable to get the reading done. And not only done, but read with intention and purpose. By slowing down, breaking the book into segments, reading and then studying the material segment by segment, the value of the book and the knowledge found within seep into your subconscious where it is really “learned”.
These Masterminds are a space to dive into a book with other like-minded individuals to gain the knowledge contained within. Together we study over a period of 6 months and as a group, we draw out the most important principles from these writings and then work to implement them into our own lives. Again, holding each other accountable at each meeting when we discuss our goals for the month.
Linda McLean, who has over 25 years’ experience in business leadership and team development facilitates a well-organized, proven Mastermind process that provides each participant the opportunity for conversation, of sharing ideas and ultimate growth from these monthly discussions.
Through repetition, new ideas and solutions are formed, which have helped many achieve the progress they have been desiring in their business.
Our interactive McLean Book Study Mastermind Groups have a maximum of 15 people which provides a safe and constructive place to encourage great dialogue from EVERYONE – no one does all of the talking!

"Confront Reality – what a game changer!"
After our last Mastermind meeting, studying "The Speed of Trust" by Stephen M.R. Covey, I felt the need to have a transparent talk with my team about the reality of our current market situation. What I learned from the book and the chapter on Behavior #8 – Confront Reality, is facing challenges head on is the only way to go in order to move forward. Sometimes leaders have to have difficult conversations, but I am glad I did. I have seen a pivot within my team. Discussing the reality that our business has changed because of Covid and the complete lack of inventory, took hold and many of my team members have stepped up to make the changes needed to stay competitive within our market.Linda Hall

"I was so inspired after our Mastermind meeting on The Speed of Trust"
“I was so inspired after our Mastermind meeting on "The Speed of Trust" that I went out and purchased three more copies of the book to give away as gifts to people I know would find a lot of value from it. The knowledge in this book applies to all industries, businesses, families AND individuals. However, the real value has come from the study within the group, gaining other's perspectives and having real, transparent conversations about how to build trust with others and with ourselves."”Karen Picarello
"I have found that I receive so much more value from being in the McLean Book Club Mastermind Group than from reading the book on my own."
“When I hear other people’s perspectives and then we discuss it, I learn so much more. Also, I appreciate the interaction of everyone, and love that if I don’t feel like talking, I am not pressured to participate. I love the freedom of learning together with everyone.”Eva Neuenschwander
