CEO’s Who’s Helping YOU When It’s Time to Grow? Discover the Power of CEO Mastermind.
Back in October 2018, we launched our very first, live CEO Mastery course with the intention of creating a powerful environment for those leading their real estate businesses to think, act, and get the results of a CEO (for a quick peek into that class, go here).
We started by jumping into mindset and working through how paradigms from the past might get in the way of your forward progress today.
Each of the attendees worked on their visions of what they desire their businesses to become. And then we explored each of the eight facets that we outline in our book, “Snapshot Business Planning“, discovering what’s working for attendees in each area, as well as where some are facing challenges and need input.
By the end of the course, people had not only gotten a lot of ideas from their peers, they had their strategic vision for the coming year written out AND their Top 6 goals identified with the action steps they’d need to take to accomplish them.
That 2-1/2 days proved to be a powerful experience for those in attendance, and most also acknowledged that some level of accountability was going to be needed to ensure follow-through on the action steps.
So, we offered an opportunity to join a six-month Mastermind group, and several jumped at the chance.
It might be helpful to digress just a bit here and explain what a true Mastermind is. We know from experience that some of our network have been involved in “Masterminds” that were a one-time meeting of the minds. And you may have participated in a recurring Mastermind group that was actually a periodic idea dump, if you will, from a few of the participants.
In fact, I remember an old Mastermind I once belonged to where the founder of the group dominated each call, leaving little to no time for anyone else to either share or ask for help!
In the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, first published back in 1937, the “Master Mind” is defined as follows: “Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”
The chapter goes on to further clarify that it’s people surrounding themselves with the advice, counsel, cooperation, and AID of like-minded peers… in a Mastermind, you’re forming an alliance with the commitment to help each other advance directives and get to the next level!
This magnificent CEO Mastermind group we worked with over the course of six months.
They studied together; they brought their challenges and sought advice on how to solve them; they offered support to their fellow members; they learned and they grew.
“What a shift of my CEO paradigm. I’ve learned to lead by law, not by luck.” ~ Bobette Fisher, Charleston, South Carolina
They also each had private one-on-one coaching sessions to further deepen their understanding and forward their progress. When we all met face-to-face at the conclusion of the six months, we were able to spend a full day reviewing progress, reconnecting with visions, exploring the future of the industry, and setting new goals with action plans.
And then, we spent a day touring Lake Tahoe and connecting on a more personal level.
These folks are committed to continuing to help each other, and we’re honored to support them as they’re becoming top-notch CEOs! (In fact, we took time out to support Red Nose Day and remind ourselves not to take life TOO seriously, too.)
