Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. Sometimes you will hear this called a “gut instinct”.
Intuition is more than just a feeling or a hunch.
It is when you have a quick insight into something without relying on analyzing the thought.
Intuition or ‘gut feeling’ isn’t necessarily logical, but it still feels like the right direction.
You may not be able to explain why you are making a certain decision, but you know it is the right thing to do. Your intuition is naturally guiding you to the correct answer.
In essence, you almost already know the answer to your question without actual knowledge of the outcome.
It is that internal voice guiding you toward a desired outcome or decision.
When you learn to follow your intuition, you will find that it is usually right!
Sometimes it can be scary to follow that internal voice. But when you combine all of these answers and then tap into your intuition, it simply becomes natural. Trust yourself.
The truth is, you will never go wrong by following your intuition!
How do you know if your intuition is leading you in the right direction?
There are many experts that speak on what to do to follow your intuition. Here are some questions I find help me feel whether I’m on course for achieving my goals:
Does this feel right for me? Really tap into your inner feelings and immediately ask yourself, am I going to answer yes or no to this right away.
Don’t do it unless you write it down! Weigh out whether this is going to be right for you, then when you have a strong feeling it’s the right direction, write it down and this helps you to look at it from a different perspective.
And finally, check in with yourself post-decision. You will find out whether you are really tapping into your intuition, or if you are just making a quick decision for the sake of making a decision. And remember what we learned from John Maxwell, you aren’t failing, just sometimes we fail forward. We are always learning lessons from our decisions.
Remember, you have been gifted with a beautiful inner feeling. Tap into it and use it.
You will be happy that you did!
