Getting feedback from your team is crucial to your success as a leader.
Should you ask for feedback from your team members to use to become a better leader? Absolutely.
Make it clear that you’re open to their comments and suggestions, as well as how they can provide feedback. Don’t be afraid of negative feedback – no one is perfect, so hearing constructive criticism will help you become a better leader instead of a bitter one.
Once you have their feedback, ask yourself these questions: How can I use this information to improve? Is there anything else I should be aware of? Did I learn anything new about myself or my team? And finally, how can I show my appreciation for them taking the time to speak with me?
